Level 3 Award in Education and Training Combined with Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocational Achievement

Accredited by AIM Qualifications
Online Learning, Zoom and Classroom
The Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) gives you the knowledge that you need to teach. It is a nationally recognised qualification, accredited through AIM Qualifications. We’ve combined AET with the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA), which is the course you need if you want to become an educational assessor. Once you have completed this, you’ll have a teaching AND an assessing qualification.

Who is it for?

AETCAVA is ideal for teachers, tutors, trainers or anyone planning to deliver sessions and assess qualifications. We have helped chefs, beauty therapists, support workers, business development professionals, health and safety trainers, nurses, hairdressers, job coaches, HR managers and in-house trainers become more effective teachers and assessors in their field.

I’m not actually teaching, training or doing any sort of delivery at the moment though…

That’s fine for AET because the only observation you’ll have is a microteach session. This is a 15-minute session that you will deliver to your tutor and a group on a subject of your choice. You’ll receive feedback and you’ll do the same for others, which is an excellent opportunity to get feedback on your teaching and to see how others deliver.

What about the assessing side of the course?

For CAVA, it’s important that you’re occupationally competent in the area you’d like to assess, which means that if you want to assess retail NVQs, you’ll need to have worked in retail within the last 10 years. You also need to be already working with at least one learner who is working towards an accredited qualification because we will need to observe you in the workplace with them.
