Sustainability is no longer just a “nice to have”. Organisations across the UK are increasingly expected to demonstrate responsible, sustainable working practices as part of contracts, inspections and quality assurance requirements.

As an employer, manager, trainer or frontline worker, it’s important to understand what sustainability really means in practice and how it applies to your role, your organisation and the decisions you make every day.

This half-day EMG Endorsed training session is designed to build understanding, raise awareness and support practical, proportionate action without jargon or unrealistic expectations.

Whether you work in education, healthcare, construction, hospitality, social care or the private sector, this course will help you make sustainability meaningful and achievable.

You will:

Understand sustainability in the workplace
Learn what sustainability really means, including environmental, social and economic sustainability.
Recognise expectations and responsibilities
Understand how sustainability links to contracts, quality assurance and professional practice, including NHS-aligned expectations where relevant.
Assess current practice
Identify where sustainability already exists in your organisation and where effort may be wasted or blocked.
Make realistic decisions
Learn how to prioritise sustainability actions based on real-world constraints such as time, cost and evidence.
Take practical action
Develop proportionate, role-specific actions that can be embedded into everyday practice.

This course includes practical activities, real-world scenarios and guided reflection to help sustainability move from policy into practice.

Build confidence, meet expectations and make sustainability work for you.
