Employers need to be ready to protect employees from sexual harassment under a new statutory obligation.
Starting in October 2024, the Worker Protection Act (an amendment of Equality Act 2010) will enhance protections against sexual harassment in the workplace. Employers are now required to take reasonable measures to prevent such incidents, with tribunals able to increase compensation by up to 25% for violations.
So now it's time to get trained!
Join our engaging half-day EMG Endorsed training session on the new sexual harassment provisions of the UK Equality Act.
This course has been designed for employers, HR professionals and employees who want to create a safe and respectful workplace.
Through interactive activities and open discussions, you’ll gain valuable insights and practical tools to address harassment effectively.
You will:
1. Understand sexual harassment: You'll be able to define and recognise types of harassment and their impact on individuals and the workplace.
2. Know your legal responsibilities: You'll learn about the new provisions and your obligations as an employer or employee.
3. Understand how to use prevention strategies: You'll discover best practices for creating an inclusive environment that discourages harassment.
4. Learn reporting procedures: You'll learn effective ways to report incidents and the investigation process that follows.
5. Engage in real-life scenarios: As with all EMG courses, you'll engage in activities that encourage discussion and reinforce your learning!
